SHORTPARIS

Shortparis is a truly unique phenomenon on the Russian music scene. The band's music can be described as a dramatic art punk with an faery show on stage. Connoisseurs of the unusual and refined will be able to draw stylistic parallels with the work of Xiu Xiu or Perfume Genius, but where Western colleagues go into a more intimate chamber sound, Shortparis turns the soul inside out in performances of stadium scale. In this they remain a very “Russian” group - bringing everything to an insane maximum and lawlessness, which, in fact, amazes European viewers. Having started its career in the early 10s in the industrial ghetto of Novokuznetsk, Shortparis in just a few years turned into a group of quite European level. Not without a scandal, as it should be in all real stars: the last SHORTPARIS video for the song “Terrible” (“Strashno”) caused a mixed reaction in the Internet community.
