Notabird is the band of Viktor Skorbenko, a musician from Murmansk, based in Moscow. The band's music is an elegant combination of dream-pop and dreamy lyrics overflowing with intricate images. In 2019, Meduza announced the debut mini-album of the band Notebird as one of the most beautiful records of the year in Russian. From the very beginning of the way, the creativity of Notabird caused instant associations with the group Auktsyon-the vocal melodies and lyrics of the tracks of the collective are very similar to the early experiences of Leonid Fedorov and Dmitry Ozersky, the authors of the imperishable hits of the legendary Russian group. At the same time, the heritage of Aucyon Notabird is reinterpreted in accordance with their northern Pomeranian temperament – their songs are devoid of the pressure and carnivality inherent in Aucyon. In the Murmansk group, everything turns out to be much stricter, more ascetic and more serious. Rolling minimalistic guitars and a slow rhythm section on the album Notabird perfectly reflect the northern reality of Murmansk: here there is plenty of beautiful sadness for a bored intelligent audience.
