St. Petersburg polymath and composer Philip Khmyrov famously combines the melancholy of Russian rock and the cheerfulness of new rap. He praises trams, train stations, batteries — in a word, everyday life and the relationship with his beloved developing against its background. One may get the impression that Khmyrov's music would be quite suitable for a hypothetical Balabanov film as a soundtrack, in tune with the difficult fate of the main character in the spirit of the cult director. And at the same time, Khmyrov's music is very modern, electronic, stylish, in the spirit of the time, you can dance to it. Khmyrov is a true hero of our time. In April of this year, Philip Khmyrov released a new album called "Crossover". The album artfully mixes elements of hip-hop, Russian rock and dance electronics. The songs were recorded and mixed by Philip himself. In his work, he was inspired by the relationships of his friends, his love of basketball, and his own home on Innovator Boulevard. According to Khmyrov, his new record says that he has no goal, but there is a way. It took the musician a whole year to prepare for the recording, but the album itself eventually appeared quite quickly — in a month. Philip hopes that in the future he will create songs even faster. And now it's time to introduce new music to the public!
