Electroforez is a unique phenomenon on the Russian stage. The synth-pop group, founded in 2012, has the potential of "Russian Pet Shop Boys", but develops according to its own laws, sometimes deliberately avoiding commercial pop hits in favor of decadent lyrics and darkwave-style aesthetics. Nevertheless, Electroforez is one of the most successful projects of the new wave of Russian independent music. The duo of Ivan Kurochkin and Vitaly Talyzin left the school music project and for a long time lived in the underground of St. Petersburg, performing in the cult Ion Library. Since then, the band has released three full-length albums, six mini-albums, and nine singles. The popularity of the band is ensured by unpredictable lyrics, restrained and at the same time powerful synthesizer sound, as well as the amazing charisma of vocalist Ivan Kurochkin. Electroforez traveled through Europe several times with a series of tours, took part in the program" Evening Urgant " on the air of the First Channel. Behind the shoulders of the musicians is a collaboration with the respected California project Xiu Xiu. Recently, the track "Russian Princess" was included in the soundtrack to the TV series "Mir! Friendship! In 2020, the iconic American label Sacred Bones released the Electroforez track "Ikea"on its compilation album. This year, the duo released their third album called "505" - this record featured a joint track with the Belarusian collective Molchat Doma. A video clip was also released for this track, full of dark symbolism and understatement in the best traditions of Electroforez.
