Fontaines D.C. - the brightest representatives of the new wave of Irish independent music. Their melodic and at the same time energetic “unkempt” sound is inspired by The Fall, The Pogues, and sometimes resembles The Strokes. The guys released their first singles in 2018, and this spring recorded their debut album called “Dogrel” (a special kind of street poetry in Ireland, the manner peculiar to the working class, popular in pubs). All five participants studied and met at the Music College in Dublin, where they created the group “Fontaines”, and the prefix D.C. was added at the request of the band of the same name from the USA, D.C. means Dublin City. On stage Fontaines D.C. often resemble the early The Stooges with their drive and youthful aggression. Vocalist Greene Chutten squeezes the microphone stand like an invalid with his crutch, on stage he enters the image of a shaman of a very strange ceremony, which is a live performance of a gang of desperate Irishmen. This spring Fontaines D.C. go on their first tour, and in the summer they will come to our festival.
